A diaspora family with roots in Ndokwa land
The Ndokwa Association In America is a 501(c)(3) non-profit, charitable, civic organization created by and for the sons, daughters and spouses of the Ukwuani and Ndosumili areas of Delta State, Nigeria, living in the United States. The NY & NJ Chapter is its home in the tri-state area.
Our mission
To unite Ndokwa people living in New York and New Jersey, preserve and promote our culture, care for one another in times of joy and difficulty, and channel the resources of the diaspora into education, health and infrastructure projects in Ndokwa land.
Our story
The chapter grew out of informal gatherings of Ndokwa families across New York and New Jersey. What began as meetings in living rooms is now an organised chapter of the national association, running charity work and the One Child One Desk School Furniture Program alongside scholarship and welfare support.
What we do
- • Provide school furniture and learning materials to schools in Ndokwa communities.
- • Award scholarships to indigent and outstanding Ndokwa students.
- • Support members through bereavement, illness and family milestones.
- • Host cultural, youth and networking events across New York and New Jersey.
- • Partner with the national association on conventions and development funds.
